The tread is something that is needed to keep the feet on the board. You don't want to be slipping around while trying to perform the raddest trick ever. It is true that sometimes these types of skate shoes can become quite expensive and cost a lot of money, but they can be just important as the board itself. Get yourself a good pair and they will last you through the entire season this year.
